Blockchain Safety check

In this week’s tech bulletin, we need to urgently address a growing concern regarding fraudulent websites claiming to offer “migration” services or other features related to Treedefi or similar cryptocurrency platforms.

It’s crucial to understand that these sites are sophisticated scams. Once they gain access to your wallet, they deceitfully obtain approval to interact with malicious smart contracts. This unauthorized access can lead to the automatic withdrawal of your tokens, funds, and even gas tokens, such as BNB in our case.

To help Treedefi and all the communities to be safe, we performed several actions by reporting the web domains and telegram chats to authorities. Furthermore, we contributed the official Metamask Phishing Website detection by opening a Pull Request here. As you can see, the Pull Request has been accepted and the phishing website won’t be accessible for who is trying with metamask.

When a website is added to this list, metamask will show a warning similar to the one below, that appears if you navigate to the compromised website multichain.org

The method employed by these scammers is alarmingly effective and poses a significant risk to your digital assets. Therefore, we urge everyone to exercise extreme caution. Always ensure that any communication or instructions you follow come directly from our verified website and our known channels.

Your vigilance is the key to safeguarding your investments in the volatile world of cryptocurrency. Remember, staying informed and alert is your best defense against these deceptive tactics.
